PLL Logistics focuses on life cycle logistics, which includes the continuous Integrated Logistics System support strategies applied toward planning, development, implementation, and management of a business, healthcare facility, an effective weapons system, information systems, or to the design/development of electronic equipment. PLL Logistics performs a principal logistics role during the acquisition and operational phases of the life cycle to: (a) ensure product support strategies meet the program goals for operational effectiveness; (b) ensure supportability requirements are addressed and consistent with costs, scheduling, and performance: (c) for electronic and weapons systems, life cycle logistics plays an integral role to ensure supportability considerations are implemented during the system’s design; and (d) plan and develop performance-based logistics (PBL) initiatives to product support.
